United Methodist Women

All women members and friends of the church are welcome to attend.

May 2008 UMW Newsletter

The United Methodist Women (UMW) is the largest women's organization of a major Protestant denomination in the United States.

Our local unit at Church of the Saviour is part of the North Coast District in the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Our heritage of sacrifice, witness and service supports our purpose which states: "The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as a whole person through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in global ministries of the church.

Monies to support our stated purposes are raised through pledges and two yearly flea markets.

Our UMW General Meetings are held monthly September through June, usually on the second Tuesday of the month. Meetings include devotions, a short business meeting, an interesting and/or educational program and lunch or refreshments.

There are also four circles that meet September through May on the fourth Tuesday except where noted:

  • Hannah Circle meets at 9:45 a.m. in the church parlor on the third Wednesday of the month. Child care is available by reservation.
