Myers Lecture

Lisa best head shotChurch of the Saviour is happy to host the Rev. Dr. Lisa M. Wolfe, Professor in the Endowed Chair of Hebrew Bible at Oklahoma City University, as our 2014 Myers Lecture speaker. Lisa will lead a workshop on Saturday, October 18, and preach at all three morning worship services on Sunday, October 19.

A native of Stow, Ohio, Lisa grew up in the United Methodist Church and had Dr. Yoost as a camp counselor and small group leader! She also teaches at Saint Paul School of Theology.

She received her Ph.D. from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and Northwestern University in 2003, her M.Div. from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio in 1996, and was ordained in the United Church of Christ in 2000.

In 2010, “Living the Questions” released Lisa’s Bible Study DVD Uppity Women of the Bible: Ruth, Song of Songs, Esther, and Judith. Lisa is currently working on a book project on Ecclesiastes. She and her husband, Fred Mischler, and their two children live in Oklahoma City.
