Stretching God’s Love

Stretching God’s Love

Luke 10:25-37; Mark 10:13-16; John 6:1-14

February 22 was Youth Sunday at Church of the Saviour, a day when the youth of the church plan and lead all three services. In this Youth Sunday message, three twelve year old boys discuss how they hear the command to reach out and stretch the love of God in the story of The Good Samaritan, Let the Children Come to Me, and The Feeding of the 5000. Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will never enter it.” (Mark 10:16)

Spread the Word!

Spread the Word!

Acts 10:34-43 and Mark 1:40-45

Dr. Charles Yoost, Senior Pastor, preaches on the theme, “Spread the Word!” Jesus reaches out and does the unthinkable: he touches a leper, one whom society shuns. The leper is cleansed, and tells everyone what God has done for him. We are called to spread the word that God’s healing love is available to everyone.

More Than a Sound Bite!

More Than a Sound Bite!

Mark 1:29 - 39

Dr. Charles Yoost preaching on the topic, “More Than a Sound Bite!” Mark, giving headlines and a brief description of Jesus’ ministry, reports that when the disciples find Jesus in a quiet place of meditation and prayer, they exclaim, “Everyone is searching for you!” Everyone is searching for Jesus, whether they realize it or not. Everyone is searching for the compassion, the love, the acceptance, and the healing touch offered by Jesus Christ.

The Demons Within

The Demons Within

Mark 1:21-28

In a twenty-first century approach to Jesus’ exorcism of the unclean spirit from a man in Capernaum, Reverend Steiger examines the difference between “healing” and “curing.” Physicians attempt to cure people of diseases; but only Jesus Christ can truly make a person whole. The road to healing may be long or it may be short; but it starts at the communion table, for it is at that table that we truly come into relationship with the living Christ; so let the healing begin.
