Lift Him Up!

Lift Him Up!

Jeremiah 31:31-34, Psalm 51:1-12 and John 12:20

Dr. Yoost preaches on the theme “Lift Him Up!” Both the Psalmist and the prophet Jeremiah realize that God’s people have heart trouble! The psalmist prays for a new heart, and Jeremiah promises a day when God’s covenant will be written on our hearts. The coming of Jesus demonstrates the extent to whcih God will go in order to give us a new heart and a new lease on life. We are called to lift up Jesus so that all may be transformed by the power of his love.

The Doors Only Swing Open

The Doors Only Swing Open

Ephesians 2:1-10

Have you ever noticed that the doors of the church always swing out? Some people will tell you its that way because of fire codes. In his sermon, Rev. Dan Bogre explains that that the doors swing out because God wants us to know that we are sent into the world. Which ways do the doors of your heart swing? Is Christ just for you or are you called to share him with the world? Are you ready to be challenged this week? If you are, then this sermon is for you.

Spring Housecleaning!

Spring Housecleaning!

John 2:13-22

Dr. Yoost preaches on the theme “Spring Housecleaning!” When Jesus saw people being taken advantage of, he became angry. What angers us? About what are we passionate. Jesus cleansed the temple, but he was not as concerned with the building as he was about people’s lives. Do we need a spring cleaning at our house? May we become consumed with zeal for building a better world, following the direction of our Lord.

Jesus is the Problem!

Jesus is the Problem!

Mark 8:31-38

Dr. Charles Yoost preaches on the theme, “The Problem is Jesus!” When we invite people to church, are we guilty of false advertising in our “marketing?” We need to tell the whole story: salvation is free, but discipleship is costly and demanding. If we wish to follow Jesus, we must carry the cross, which leads to new life. God gives us the resources and the strength to do so.

What a Temptation!

What a Temptation!

Mark 1: 9-15 & Luke 4:1-13

First Sunday in Lent - Dr. Yoost preaching on the theme, “What a Temptation!” We are tempted, as Jesus was tempted, to solve spiritual problems with material solutions, to settle for less than God wants us to be, and to draw attention to ourselves, allowing our egos to edge God out. Jesus is our example, and he is always by our side.
