Fear Not

Fear Not

John 6:1-21

In this sermon, Reverend Mark Steiger reminds us that Christ is always with us to bear our burdens and cares. Christ will feed us and comfort us. Reverend Steiger tells us that worrying is “praying to ourselves.” Rather than praying to ourselves we are call to turn our troubles over to God.

Just a Little Bit

Just a Little Bit

Mark 6:30-34, 53-56

The people crowded in on Jesus and tried to get close to him. There were so many people trying to get close to him that some people knew that all that they had to do was touch the fringe of his coat. That’s all it would take to be healed. Rev. Dan Bogre explains that just a little bit of Jesus is all it takes to change people’s lives. Are you looking for opportunities to give just a little bit of Jesus away in your life? You don’t have to be a missionary in Africa to give a little bit of Jesus away. Your life is your mission field.

The Truth Hurts

The Truth Hurts

Mark 6:14-29

You need to eat more vegetables. You need to stop smoking. You need to exercise more. Sometimes the truth hurts and other times we just don’t want to hear it. Rev. Dan Bogre asks “What truth has Christ revealed in your life that you have been ignoring or even running from?” In the text from Mark today its about the truth that Herod just didn’t want to hear and the consequences that go along with it. What truth is staring you in the face today and is it time for you to finally embrace it?

All I Need

All I Need

Mark 6:1-13

In this sermon, Reverend Mark Steiger compares Jesus’ sending out of the twelve disciples to the work of the eighteenth century circuit riders who traveled from town to town with nothing but their horse and the few possessions that would fit in their saddlebags. Reverend Steiger states that the twenty-first century church needs some good circuit riders who are impassioned about spreading the love of Christ. He then challenges his listeners to pack their saddlebags and go forth to share the good news.
