Treasure in Clay Jars

Jeremiah 18:1-6; II Corinthians 4:7-9, 16-5:1; Revelation 21:1-6

All Saints Day - Sunday, November 1, 2009 - Dr. Charles Yoost preaches on the theme, “Treasure in Clay Jars.” In the ancient world people placed things in clay jars they wished to preserve.  Where do we keep things we want to preserve?  A safe deposit box, a bank vault?  We may have valuable heirlooms, but the our most precious treasures are the memories of our loved ones in our hearts.  Even when memory fades, God’s love does not.  God promises new life, both to those who die and those who survive.  Just as the potter can remold a piece of clay, so God can re-form us after the death of a loved one.
