Hope, Humility and Hospitality
Luke 2:22-40
In this sermon Reverend Mark Steiger discusses the hope, humility, and hospitality the Simeon and Anna find in the Christ child. Rev. Steiger then challenges the church to be a source of this same hope for the world. The church and each of its members are called to share the hospitality of Christ with all whom they meet, in all they think, say, and do.
Here I Am, Lord
Luke 1:26-38, 47-55.
Dr. Yoost preaches on the theme “Here I Am, Lord!” When God called the teenage Mary, it caused a major disruption in her life. (Babies have a way of rearranging our priorities!) Mary willingly agreed to do what the Lord asked of her. God is asking us to say “Yes” to his call upon our lives, just as Mary did.
A Man Sent From God
John 1:6-8, 19-28.
Dr. Charles Yoost preaches on the theme “A Man Sent from God.” The straightforward preaching of John the Baptist reminds us that (1) We need to turn around, and (2) Jesus can turn us around. We need not be prisoners of the past, but can live the full, free life that God intends. We can change! A new age has begun! (3) Just as “There was a man sent from God whose name is John,” each of us has been sent by God to continue Jesus’ ministry in the world. Let us prepare our hearts for his coming!
The Best Word I’ve Heard!

Dr. Yoost preaches on the topic, “The Best Word I’ve Heard!” Most of us have trouble waiting, whether it is in traffic, a supermarket line or waiting for test results. The messag of Advent is that Jesus is coming! As Christians, we are called to wait in hope for the coming of Christ and the promise of a new day, just as expectant parents wait in hope for the birth of their child.
