Care & Support
Pastoral Counseling
The Rev. Lois Annich is an ordained Presbyterian minister and a Pastoral Counselor and Fellow in The American Association of Pastoral Counselors. She provides pastoral counseling to meet a strong need for outreach and ministry in the Heights area. Counseling is covered by client fees and insurance where applicable, and there is an anonymous scholarship fund so that parishioners can avail themselves of this service. To reach Rev. Annich, please call (216) 373-2660.
Eucharist Ministry
The Eucharist Ministry provides a wonderful link to those who can no longer come to church services. Volunteers visit folks in their home or care facility each month to serve Communion and visit with them about the church.
Information and training are available for those interested in finding out more about this important ministry. Please call the Rev. Daniel Bogre or Vera Orosz.
Health Ministry
Flu shots: Flu shots will be available on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. The cost is $30. Medicare part B will cover the cost and you must present your Medicare card when you get the shot. Please bring cash only (no checks). You do not need to be a member of Church of the Saviour to get the flu shot here, so please bring your friends. All are welcome. Remember to wear a short-sleeve shirt to make it easier to get your shot.
Blood Pressure Screenings: Screenings are available after each service on the fourth Sunday of the month. The next screening is September 24 in Room 106, sponsored by the Health Ministry Team.
Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministry is a program that trains lay men and women to provide one-on-one Christian support to people in need. Care is provided through weekly visits in which the Stephen Minister listens to and prays with the person in need. Situations can be as diverse as a death in the family, moving to a new town, empty-nest syndrome or a terminal illness. Each Stephen Minister goes through a minimum of 50 hours of instruction for skills that include listening, feelings, assertiveness, confidentiality and ministering to specific situations such as divorce, grief and childbirth. Each relationship is confidential.
