COTS & New Life Cathedral- East Cleveland Service Day- Saturday, June 2.

Our ‘spring’ East Cleveland Serving Day will start with continental breakfast and worship at 8:00 at NLC, 16200 Euclid Avenue, with the serving occurring from 9:00 to 12:00 followed by a deli luncheon at COTS.  Opportunities will include teams at Candlewood Nursing Home, Eastbrook Healthcare Center, McGregor Assisted Living, Salvation Army-Aging Well, Love Lunch Project, Habitat for Humanity Restore, Neighborhood Clean-Up, and diaper drive for St. Philomena’s Pantry.  More information and sign-up will be available on Sundays May 20 and 27.  Come serve and enjoy the fellowship.

SERVICE TEAMS (9:00 to 12:00):

  • Candlewood Nursing Home- [Team Leader- Carolyn Skillern]

NLC skit then volunteers to interact with the nursing home residents, reading to them and socializing (Team size = 10-12; age limit = 18+)

  • Eastbrook Healthcare Center- [Team Leader- Cynthia Williams]

  • NLC/East Cleveland Neighborhood Cleanup– [Team Leaders-Rob Armstrong & Bill Williams, LaValle Dorsey, Curt Campbell]

Several clean-up sites may be defined with service being trash pick-up and leaf raking (Team size = Open; no age limitation)

  • Love Lunch Project (Team Leaders:  Whitney Williams & Dwayne Carter)

Delivering bagged lunches to homeless at various sites in East Cleveland; locations tbd. (Team size = undetermined; age limit 18+)

  • ECHO at St. Philomena- Diaper Drive– [Team Leaders- Mark & Linda Moore]

Collection site will be in the Great Hall; money donations accepted.

SERVICE DAY LUNCH (12:00 to 1:30):

Soup and Deli sandwich in the COTS Great Hall (volunteers needed).  Service Teams informally share their experiences
