1. Are you new to Church of the Saviour?
Every Sunday is open house at Church of the Saviour. You are invited to tour the church, meet our staff, learn about our building expansion, meet lots of friendly folks, show the kids our Sunday school rooms and playground, and join us for refreshments. Choose a worship service that fits your schedule and interests. Join us for Christian education on Sunday mornings or during the week. Share your time and talents in a variety of volunteer opportunities.
2. What's happening at Church of the Saviour?
If you're interested in making a difference in the community, our metropolitan and global projects may interest you. We participate in Habitat for Humanity, school tutoring programs, providing food and shelter for those in need, supporting families with loved ones in the hospital, and working together with those of other faiths in our local community. On a larger scale, we have made four work trips to New Orleans to help rebuild after the hurricanes, and our members have been on work teams to Haiti and Liberia in the past few months.
3. How do I meet other people?
No matter what your talents and interests, we have a small group for you or we'll start a new one! Bible study, sports, music, dance, drama, needlework, visual arts, exercise, chess, watching movies, book clubs, exploratory or in-depth studies of the Christian faith, environmental concerns, free blood pressure screenings, health ministry to name just a few.
4. What is available for my children?
Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. for those age 3 through Grade 5. Youth in grades 7-12 meet for Sunday school at 11:00 a.m. Childcare for infants and toddlers is available Sunday mornings from 8:30 a.m.-12:00 noon Kids in fifth grade through senior high are invited to our youth programs every weekend. Junior High (5th-8th graders) meets Friday nights at 7:00 p.m. Senior High (9th-12th graders) meet Friday nights at 7:00 p.m. These youth groups also spend one Saturday each month in service to the community.
5. How can I grow spiritually?
Adult Sunday school classes are offered at 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. each week. Bible-study groups meet several times a week to talk through Biblical and contemporary texts. In-depth study groups, such as Disciple and Christian Believer, begin each fall to deepen your understanding of your faith and to broaden your knowledge of the Bible.
