Our Purpose

At Church of the Saviour, our purpose is to glorify God by:

  • Bringing people to God through Jesus Christ
    To proclaim the Word of God through services of worship, outreach, and personal witness.
  • Nurturing people in the Christian faith
    To foster spiritual growth through preaching, Bible study, prayer, and education for all ages, thereby equipping God's people to carry out God's work.
  • Practicing the Christian faith by serving others
    To carry out God's work through local and worldwide missions, social and moral witness, stewardship and evangelism, as a church body and as individuals.
  • Providing Christian fellowship
    To offer caring, sharing, Christ-centered fellowship where all people are at home.

Our Goals For 2009

  • Passionate Worship
    A 5% overall increase in worship attendance and church membership over 2007-2008.
  • Vital Christian Education
    Emphasize educational offerings for children, youth and adults and increase the number of participants over 2007-2008.
  • Risk-taking Mission and Service
    Increase the number of participants in mission projects locally and globally by 5% over 2007-2008.
  • Strategic Use of the New Building for Community Outreach and Service
    Develop recreational use of the Great Hall as an outreach to the community. We also aim to complete the new kitchen and the COTS Café to facilitate and expand our church programming.
  • Radical Hospitality
    Develop a better strategy to help people get acquainted and feel more a part of the community.
